Education:
Bachelor Degree in Marine Sciences, Vessel Operations Management, Maritime QHSSE Management
Skills
Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of Management.
Good knowledge of systematic approach to planning and problem-solving.
Diplomatic skills are essential. Computer skills are also desirable. Detailed knowledge of the Management and Operation of marine vessels is essential.
Must be a person who is able and willing to accept responsibility for an agreed result and be accountable for the result – good or bad. Establishes clear agreements with people based on an understanding of requirements achieved through effective communication, judgment, and personal behavior, all of which demonstrate the company’s values.
Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of offshore oil and gas labor market.
Sound knowledge of Maritime legislation
#Experience:
Monitor marine legislative and regulatory requirements. Intervene as necessary to prevent unsafe operations or regulatory deficiencies.
Facilities changes in requirements in conjunction with the Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental Protection.
Take responsibilities as Designated Person ( DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO) according to ISM and ISP’s codes requirements.
Keep senior management advised on QHSSE non-compliance and where intervention is deemed necessary. Ensure effective investigations to underlying causes of high potential incidents / Bridges of securities and advise on remedial actions.
Monitor projects progression of vessels’ New Building, conversion, refurbishment, upgrade, repair, and major maintenance initiatives.
Ensure effective implementation of Environmental Protection Programs where vessels’ hazardous materials and waste management processes and procedures are complying with applicable Statutory requirements.
Monitor day-to-day Safe Operations of the fleet.
Ensure the effective Inspection of the vessels on a regular basis in which the ship’s administration, documentation, accommodation, and general safety requirements are met.
Ensure that IMO, Flags, Class, and Standards references are available in the company and onboard of the vessels; as needed.
Ensure flag state registration, Class and Statutory Certificates are valid and up to date.
Ensure the effective performance of different Safety Drills to office staff and crew onboard vessels; as defined in the yearly drill master schedule.
To monitor the validity of Class and Statutory certificates issued by various authorities for the company and the fleet.
